TSN students who participated in the VFW Patriots Pen Essay Contest, "How do you show patriotism for your country?", were treated to a pizza party this afternoon.

We are pleased to announce that three of our students have been awarded $75 each for their winning essays and will be advancing to the Regional level of the competition.

We extend our thanks to the St. Louis VFW Post #3055 for recognizing the hard work of our students and for sponsoring the contest and pizza party.

Today at TSN, Trooper Travis Rogers met with all students to discuss the important topic of internet safety.
Students learned about responsible smartphone use, the dangers of cyberbullying, sextortion, and sexting, as well as the emotional, social, and legal consequences that can come from unsafe online behavior.

Trooper Rogers also shared practical tips to help students protect their privacy, make positive choices, and use technology in healthy ways. These conversations are an important part of helping our students become safe and responsible digital citizens — both at school and at home.

We appreciate Trooper Rogers and the Michigan State Police for their partnership in keeping our kids informed and safe online.

TSN students were both educated and entertained by an interactive play written and performed by Ms. Luehm. The characters of Mrs. Washington and Mrs. Adams retold the story of the Revolutionary War through the perspectives of George Washington and John Adams. Many of our 8th graders took part in the production, portraying roles such as British Redcoats, Minutemen, and George Washington himself. A huge thank-you to Ms. Luehm for bringing this engaging and creative way to learn about our nation’s history to our students—and to Mr. Trevino for organizing this wonderful experience!

Mr. DeRosia’s 6th and 7th grade Second Step classes created Anti-Bullying and Kindness posters that are proudly displayed in our library hallway for everyone to see. We can all learn a lot from the powerful messages they shared. We’re proud of our students for spreading these important reminders about kindness and respect.
