• Mrs. Hanson (AKA  HB)

I have been working for St. Louis Public Schools since 1993.  My first ten years were spent teaching third grade.  While I loved that level, I welcomed the change when a fifth grade position opened. In the fall of 2018, when our district created a position to meet the social and emotional needs of students, I knew this was a position for whcih I was suited. I have enjoyed the onnection with students and staff alike, and welcome the growth this posttion provides  for all of our Nikkaro Family.

I have lived in Alma for most of my adult life and value the connections I make within our Gratiot County Community. My oldest son has graduated from college and lives and works in Mount Pleasant.  My youngest son goes to college in Oregon.

I graduated from Alma College with a major in Elementary Education and minors in psychology and humanities.  I have continued my graduate work through CMU.

I enjoy learning new things and having many hobbies. I love group fitness and being outside. I also enjoy wood working, gardening, volunteering with the Gratiot County Players and reading.  Reality is, however, I have spent much of my spare time supporting my children in their sports and extra-curricular activities. I consider myself a "jack of many trades, but master of none!" I am always looking for new adventures.

I also must mention my two dogs, Ollie and Ziggy.  They are a "BIG" part of my life.
