The St. Louis High School Art Department and the the City of St. Louis have worked collaboratively to initiate two projects this fall. The first project was a community window mural project with both high school and Nikkari students. Mr. Puffpaff and his advanced art students spent a day with students at Nikkari mentoring and creating fall themed murals that were later displayed in the windows of the downtown businesses. “It was an amazing day for all involved. We were glad to be able to give the students at Nikkari an opportunity to create art. The mentoring that took place was a priceless educational experience for all involved.” The second project was the painted pumpkins project with downtown St Louis. Fifty pumpkins were painted by the SLHS art students and were then displayed in the community. “The kids had a blast painting the pumpkins. It was a great opportunity for them to get the chance to see something that they created on display in the community in which they live.”
